SEO Company for Realtors and Real Estate Agents

Workbench SEO is an SEO company for real estate agents, teams and brokerages. We help agents show up when buyers and sellers search Google, Google Maps and AI assistants for an agent in their area.

Our co-founder Carmen Ruffino Kim has 10 years of business development experience, most of it in real estate. She is also a co-founder of NookLocal, a home search site for the Greater Philadelphia area.

How to get found in search as a real estate agent

Zillow, Realtor.com, Redfin and the large brokerages hold Google's results for searches like "homes for sale in Doylestown, PA." An agent's own website rarely outranks them there.

Agents can win other searches:

  • Your name: People who hear about you from a friend search your name before they call. Your website, reviews and profiles should be what they find. But most importantly, your story. Think of these branded searches as your resume.
  • Agent searches in your service area: A search like "real estate agent Philadelphia" shows a map of agents and offices from Google Business Profiles, followed by directories and agent websites. Most people use the Map Pack here to select their agent. The items they look for are proximity and review count and rating. We work with our agents on building a consistent flow of reviews.
  • Local questions: Buyers research school districts, property taxes and neighborhoods before they move. Sellers look up what their home is worth and what it costs to sell. Having content written about this, and more importantly, having video content for these searches are important.
  • AI answers: Some buyers and sellers now ask ChatGPT or Google's AI results to recommend an agent. Those answers draw on your website, your reviews and what other sites say about you. Making sure your data is structured properly for AI and LLMs to read is one of our services.

Our services

Workbench SEO focuses on the searches an agent can realistically win.

  • Google Business Profile: Setup, categories, photos, posts and reviews. Teams and brokerages usually start with the office profile and add individual agent profiles only where they help.
  • Service area and neighborhood pages: Pages for the places you actually sell, with the details buyers look for: school districts, property taxes and what each area is like. See NookLocal's school district guides for an example of how we build these pages.
  • Seller pages: Pages that answer what homeowners search before they list, including home values, timing and the costs of selling in your market.
  • Your name in search: Your website, profiles and reviews set up so the right results appear when someone searches your name.
  • Your website: A fast website on a domain you own, built around your service area. See our website design work.
  • AI search: A check of how ChatGPT and Google's AI results describe you. AI search optimization then improves the pages and profiles those answers draw from.
  • Local recommendation threads: Local Facebook groups and Reddit monitored, so you know when someone nearby asks for an agent recommendation.

Monthly SEO plans include new pages every month, technical and on-page work, and transparent monthly reporting. See plans and pricing.

How to choose a real estate SEO company

Ask any SEO company these questions before you sign, including us.

  • Who owns the website and the domain? If your site comes from your brokerage or a website vendor, find out what happens to it when you leave. Workbench SEO clients own their website, their domain and every account.
  • How long is the contract? Workbench SEO's monthly plans have a six-month minimum, then continue month to month.
  • What will the monthly report show? Ask for the calls, form inquiries and searches the work produced. Rankings alone do not show whether SEO is paying for itself.
  • Can they guarantee rankings? No honest provider can. Google and AI search results depend on factors no agency controls.

Who Workbench SEO is not right for

  • Agents who need new business next month. SEO builds over months, while referrals and paid ads move faster.
  • Agents who only want to rank for "homes for sale" searches. Zillow and the large brokerages hold those results, so we focus on the searches an agent can win.
  • New agents without a budget for ongoing work. Start with your sphere, a complete Google Business Profile and reviews from your first clients.

Real estate SEO FAQs

How much does SEO cost for a real estate agent?

SEO for a real estate agent costs $1,500 to $2,500 per month on Workbench SEO's Growth Engine plan, plus a one-time $1,500 setup. The plan has a six-month minimum, and current plans are listed on our pricing page.

Can a real estate agent outrank Zillow?

A real estate agent can rarely outrank Zillow for home listing searches. Zillow, Realtor.com and the large brokerages hold those results. Agents can rank for their own name, for agent searches in their service areas and for the local questions buyers and sellers ask.

Do I need my own website if my brokerage gives me one?

Your own website matters if you ever change brokerages. A brokerage website usually stays with the brokerage when you leave, while a website on your own domain stays with you, along with the search visibility it has built.

Does Workbench SEO work with agents outside Pennsylvania?

Agents outside Pennsylvania can work with Workbench SEO. We are based in Bucks County, PA, and offer SEO, AI search optimization and website design nationwide.

How can I see whether AI assistants recommend me?

You can see whether AI assistants recommend you by running the free AI visibility checker with "real estate agent" and a city in your service area. It runs 12 prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini and shows whether your business is named.

“Before they started Workbench SEO, Carmen and Alex helped me see the value in Google and marketing. I was 100% referral business before but I needed more volume. I didn’t realize how building a local brand and having leads come just from being online helped.”
